Sweet Yogi Porridge

The old Indian nutrition science Ayurveda aims at fresh foods that are easily to digest. According to the ayurvedic concept breakfast should be rich but not too filling. Porridge treats the gut flora gently still containing enough fibers to make you start the day with new energy. 

Porridge is my absolute favorite yogi breakfast. The following recipe allows you to create a norishing, intestine friendly and healthy breakfast in just ten minutes.




# 1 cup grounded oats

# 2 cups oatmilk (you can also use cow-, rice-, almondmilk or water)

# 1 teaspoon Ghee (Indian butter oil)

# 1 ripe banana






Melt the Ghee in a cooking pot at medium heat.




Add freshly grinded tumeric, one twirl of black pepper (helps the body to absorb the tumerics nutrients) and 1 pinch cinnamon.



Add the oats and shortly roast them.



Add the oat milk and boil the pulp up while maintain stirring.




Mash the banana with a fork and add the mass to the porridge. Add a pinch of sea salt.



Garnish the porridge the way you like it. You can use coconut chips, grinded peanuts, walnuts, raisins or dates.


* If you like it more sweet you can put natural sweeteners such as honey or coconutsugar.
